Review on ๐Ÿšด Radbot 1000 Tail Light by Portland Design Works by Elder Unogu

Ideal for city dwellers - you'll get noticed! (aka don't run over)

I ran to a cheaper store and bought taillights and they fell off (wrong clip design). I ride almost every day in the warmer months when there's no snow, and occasionally in the winter. When it's cold outside, the only way to draw attention to yourself is to wear light-colored clothing and this light. I am EXTREMELY impressed with its powerful light, especially in fast mode. It really gets the attention of oncoming cars (my guess is based on the fact that oncoming cars start to swerve when overtaking), the reflector itself is decent, and the light is pretty light and portable. One of the things I was looking for was the battery. life, and it has exceeded all expectations. After about 250 hours in fast mode, factory batteries are showing their end, but it's still relatively light. The included mounting brackets allow you multiple mounting methods: to the seat stays, seat post, backpack or saddlebag. The button is easy to reach with gloves on and VERY easy to reach if you forgot to put it on, you are already moving and have to reach back to put it on. through rain, snow and mud without problems or condensation inside. It's also very easy to take off when you stop, which is a BIG plus for those who live in a city where sticky fingers abound. Also, the belt clip is part of the support piece, NOT a separate piece held in place by a screw (like my last one that fell off). Portland Design Works have created a phenomenal light for its size and I would not hesitate to purchase a Radbot 1000 or any other product from them. It was also used on the centenary ride this year and my friends I rode with asked me several times what light I ride as they were impressed with its brightness and attractiveness. I would and would recommend this to friends and fellow cyclists and would buy again for a different bike.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
