Review on 🎙️ Enhance Audio Recording with Drift Ghost 3.5mm External Microphone by Bim Cook

I didn't use it for audio/video recording but with an intercom I built. This microphone contains a permanently charged material (called an electret microphone) so it does not require an external power supply. , such as B. a plug or a battery connected to it. I connected it to headphones and a 3.5mm audio jack to create a headset with a microphone. I have this installed in my helmets when I ride a motorcycle with others. NOTE: IT IS NOT OMNIDIRECTIONAL. (Either plus or minus depending on usage). Sound quality at 60+ mph, with wind, was great and clear; I could understand the speaker without hesitation. It was like a phone call at home. However, it is more sensitive to vibration than to wind. The bumps usually register some noise, but that's not a problem for conversational use. For recording purposes, such as film or video projects, third-party audio editing software may be required to censor and mute these unwanted noises IF they are registered (you have to hit the mic hard if you're just standing in one spot, but compared to 60 -70 mph on a bumpy freeway on a small bike with little suspension). Sound Quality: 9.5 / 10 - - - - (Great sound quality, but deducted half a star because it's clearly not an audiophile mic. Build quality isn't a big deal as the wires (ca rubber the sheathing at the end of the connector and crimped at the end of the microphone, also the soldering is good and in place. Despite their small size, they are not easy to pull out or tear. Also, since no power supply is required and the cable is long enough, you don't have to worry about future purchases (e.g. a new battery or a cable extension) which means you can buy, use, focus on other things, don't worry.Although the foam does its job of being wind canceling (yes it does), I found that it didn't reduce noise as much (probably reduced by 75-78% compared to another microphone I have: Insten VOIP / SKYPE Mini Flexible).The microphone is black), but especially for less demanding environments (e.g. B. not on a fast motorcycle) it is still sufficient. Build Quality/Durability: 9/10 - - - - (good enough, won't fall apart even with "accidental heavy use" and will serve you well --- foam detached in one place) 1 meter cord, and for you Motologgers and adventurers: You can't go wrong with this microphone. EVEN if you don't have a DRIFT HD GHOST-S DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA or Drift Innovation HD Ghost Wi-Fi waterproof digital camcorder, you can use it with a computer, another camcorder, or even a phone (the latter can be subjective to the phone type). Overall a good versatile microphone with many uses and excellent quality. Other mics may cost a little less but don't offer the flexibility this mic has. You can attach it to your shirt, collar, pole or like me even a stiff metal wire along the cord itself to make an adjustable boom mic! Good buy, would definitely recommend!
