I had a decommissioned aquarium that had built up hard deposits that the algae scrubber couldn't remove, so I finally ordered one of these. This worked better than expected. You have to use it at a pretty sharp angle to the glass or it will slip and bounce on the glass. If you tilt it slightly, it runs smoothly and noiselessly over the glass. Also, you don't have to press too hard. This is a great tool. The handle is long enough to clean my entire 48 inch 75 gallon aquarium without touching the water. Too bad I didn't get this many years ago.
