2011 Honda CRV - Eliminated Cat Low Efficiency Engine Verification Code

I bought this to replace the downstream oxygen sensor on my 2011 Honda CRV. The check engine light came and went for several months. Eventually I asked AutoZone to check the code and code P0420 popped up indicating that the catalytic system efficiency was below threshold. Catalyst failure made no sense to me on a 7-8 year old Honda with 92,000 miles. The forums have stated that replacing the O2 sensor is worth trying, hundreds less than replacing the cat of course. Be careful not to get it on the sensor holes. The code reset after 2-3 starts and about 15 miles. The price of a Denso sensor is about 1/3 the price of a Honda sensor and when I bought it from Revain it was $30 cheaper than the price of the same model at auto parts stores. The cable did not include a short rubber sleeve to insert and hold it in the mount like the OEM sensor. I tried threading it through the braces to keep it in place, but writing this reminds me to double check and maybe tie it for more security. The sensor arrived after a few days despite its Prime designation as it took several days. days to process.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Ratio Kit
