Review on Califone 1886 Multimedia Cassette Recorder by Kristina Brooks

Bought this as a gift for my wife who is a "traveling" gym teacher and never really knows what kind of audio device she will find in a certain place. I thought that a player designed for use by classroom teachers would be durable and suitable for them as well. I was impressed by the versatility of the device. This allows input from FM radio, CDs, flash drives, memory cards and any device (e.g. iPod) that can be connected via USB. The weight and size are suitable for easy transport. It's solidly built (except perhaps for the carrying handle, which I find a little flimsy and is the reason for four stars instead of five); The speakers are protected by metal (not plastic) shields to preserve their integrity, which is important for a machine that moves frequently. The sound quality may not impress an audiophile, but it's more than adequate for the settings this player is likely to run on. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and versatile player.
