I bought these as I am introducing my 14 year old son to snowmobiling in Michigan. I wanted to be able to talk to him while riding and coach him while he rode behind me. These devices worked great. Despite all-day trips of over 10 hours, I was able to keep in touch with him. They have amazing range, but once I got out of range I realized I was too far ahead of him. Devices automatically reconnect when in range. The sound is clear and the volume is easy to adjust. Even with the snowmobile I could easily understand him. The most impressive thing was -8 F on Saturday. I can't believe these devices worked in such extreme conditions. My anxiety about introducing my son to this relatively dangerous sport was greatly reduced because I could always keep an eye on him and warn him about the conditions and other riders. His happiness increased tremendously because he could ask me questions in real time and let me know if there were any problems with his gear or sled. To be honest we also spent a lot of time joking around and probably talking more than ever. Couldn't be happier. The only drawback: their installation is tedious. You have to be patient and ready to take apart the helmet liner.
