I've bred dogs for most of my adult life, so I've seen pretty much every weird behavior you can think of. However, as a breeder, I sell most of the dogs. In the end, I only keep the ones that I really like or that nobody wants to buy. And so I ended up with Charlie, a little Dalmatian who, among other things, loved to chew on doors. If you don't lock her up overnight, she will sneak out of the bedroom and gnaw through every door she can find. If it was open enough for her to put her mouth around, she would chew it. That was the weirdest part because she never chewed anything except her toys. I used to use bitter tasting foods for dog training. However, that was a long time ago, so I didn't know which brand to choose. I ended up buying Chew Not because it had good reviews and the price was right. I was surprised how well it worked. I taped a small amount to the doors of my house and Charlie completely lost interest. Now she's one of my favorite dogs and I'm glad I was able to keep her.
