Review on πŸ”§ HHIP 3900 2703 Heavy Cross Metric: Precision Tool to Tackle Heavy-duty Tasks Efficiently by Erik Snyder

Not perfect! on power tools and hand tools

Good value for money. But it's still under $100 and expect proficiency at this level. The jack screws are cut to large tolerances and there is little that can be done to fix this. It takes about 90 degrees (7mm on the scale) to change the direction of movement of the handle. Slides have a very rough surface. I started with 400 grit to remove the bumps and after a while I was able to get 30% polish on the surface. Sanded with 800 grit, but the polished finish is only 40%. All shipping lubricant was removed and a thin layer of synthetic lubricant was applied. The shutter movement is no longer jerky and only requires moderate pressure. I buffed the back of the wedges to 800 grit to achieve 100% finish. The Gibb locks were screwed all the way in and then rotated 45 degrees and locked. I use a guide rail protector (a flat nose in a hole in the guide rail) to hold the workpiece in place once alignment is achieved. I had to cut off the dog ears at the end of the longitudinal axis of the slide to adapt the vise to the WEN 4208 8 inch drill table. Sloppy but works and not worth $500.
