Review on Gigabyte A520I AC: Advanced Mini-ITX Motherboard for Gaming with AMD Ryzen AM4, Direct 6 Phases Digital PWM, and Enhanced Connectivity by Kim Palmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

great low cost AMD Mini-ITX motherboard

great price, 120, for an AMD 500 series (yes, A520I) motherboard that supports 3rd gen Ryzen processors and 5th generation can use . Has 1 fast M.2 NVMe slot, cool. GPU PCI-E x16 3.0 which is normal, PCI-e 4.0 doesn't make much difference. 2 for DDR4 3200, or you can probably overclock to 3600 safely with the right RAM. I used Scythe Big Shuriken 3 CPU Air Cooler for this setup. Perfect low cost AMD 500 series motherboard. Never had a problem with Gigabyte. My last gigabyte motherboard was the Mini-ITX GA-Z77N-WIFI. Still works fine with a 4-core i5-3570S and a GPU 1030. I currently have a Gigabyte B550 Pro AC motherboard with a Ryzen 5 5600X and a Gigabyte 3070 Eagle. I didn't choose them on purpose, I just won a new Egg-Shuffle. But they work great, no problems. Gigabyte seems like a solid brand.

Pros
  • 6-phase direct digital PWM with 55A DrMOS
Cons
  • weak
