I love this thing. I recently replaced my car's shock absorbers and struts and was struggling to get the alignment right as many places on Yelp have very conflicting reviews. If you want peace and quiet, you often have to do things yourself. I did the alignment two ways: First - since my initial alignment was accurate (according to the digital read alignment originally done in the shop, perfectly flat tire wear and no drag on the road) I just lifted the front of the car, so on both sides I did the Removed the wheels and measured the camber of the brake discs. I then replaced the stays and bolted them back onto the axle brackets to reproduce the original camber values. Second, after all was said and done, I grabbed an 8 foot elbow I bought at Home Depot for $11. , stuck this sensor in the middle and read my driveway until I found an area that matched the level of both of my front tires. I then moved my car to that spot, attached that sensor to a flat strip of metal (about 1.5" x 6"), pressed it against what appeared to be the flat part of my wheels, and read the camber that way. I also "could" pick any section of my driveway, zero the level, and then take a camber reading from those zeroed readings. In my particular case, that was pretty much all I had to do to get the wheel alignment to work satisfactorily. In theory, changing my struts doesn't affect my caster or toe, so I was only interested in camber and this tool worked for me.
