We love these stools (bought four) but be careful if you don't have one on hand. Instructions are ridiculous, you can't send. I thought I was missing parts when the parts packages were opened and a few screws were eventually found under the flaps at the bottom of the box. Ran into a couple of holes that weren't quite drilled on the metal legs, luckily I had some bits and I'm lucky I have a 12 tap drill bit to finish the holes. Then I had a stool where the legs didn't fit on the brackets, which I needed large pliers and a rubber mallet to attach. If someone doesn't have these tools, or maybe others, they might find these stools a problem, plus working without a guide can be a real problem. We love this product, just make sure you are prepared for any problems that may arise. If you feel comfortable, no problem. PS - plastic foot pads are cheap - put on plastic/nylon pads for carpets or strong felt pads for wood or tile floors, this should help a lot.
