When this scratching post first showed up at my door I was concerned because the box seemed quite small and my cat was quite large. However, once I assembled this thing, I was quite impressed with the finished product. It only took about 20 minutes to put together, and that's only because I first moved the large platform to cat house level. Pay attention to where the holes are and how they line up to avoid construction delays! Additionally, this item was easy to assemble, requiring only an Allen key (which is included). For those concerned about tree size and stability, rest assured that my 12-pound crampon will comfortably fit any section. and without hesitation or signs of instability. I could actually sit on the second tier with no issues (I'm 6ft/185lb) so this thing is pretty solid. The carpet is very soft, there is nice soft padding under the platforms and the neutral dark gray color goes well with the interior. The overall size is large enough to give my cat plenty of room to climb and contemplate her kingdom, but not so big that it takes up half the living room. Hanging ball toys are a big hit with my kitty. Obtain! You won't regret it and your cat will love you for it. Compared to Pets-Mart/Co's extortionate prices, this tree is the deal of the century!
