The Smart Dropper is the perfect dosing device in my opinion. Using Clever Dripper is easy and very effective. Insert a paper filter, rinse, add coffee and pour boiling water in a thin stream, starting from the center and around. Use enough water to dampen the soil, cover with a lid to keep it hot while it "blooms" for 30 seconds. Then slowly pour in more water, this time starting at the edges and working inwards. You'll soon find out how much water you can use in your favorite mug. Close the lid and place the Clever Drip Tip over the mug, which presses the bottom and the coffee begins to flow out. By letting the coffee grounds swell, the coffee becomes denser and improves the flavor without making it bitter. Clear plastic will stain naturally, but think of it as a patina. They now offer Clever Drippers in colored plastic, of which the mocha color makes the most sense. I've been using Clever Dripper for I don't know how many years, and I only have the second one (the first one eventually lost one of its "legs" and became too unstable to use). I only bought one mocha as a spare as I can't imagine what I would do without it if the other one broke. It's also nice to be able to make coffee for someone at the same time as your own cup. It may not look as elegant or charming as some of the other pouring devices, but they should remain visible while using the Clever Dripper constantly.
