In 2010 Ford switched from 40-bit chips to 80-bit chips in their key fobs. When non-genuine key fobs that appear to be Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are bought online (i.e. from non-accredited dealers or locksmiths), they are still essentially legitimate 80-bit keys with new blades and housings. WARNING: If a reconditioned 80-bit key was EVER programmed into a pre-2010 Ford (specifically the F-150), then that key (chip) was restricted (read; locked) from programming as a 40-bit key and never can again thanks to Ford for 80-bit auto (after 2010) reprogrammed. I found an excellent auto mechanic here in Knoxville, Tennessee who spent a lot of time troubleshooting and researching this issue to solve my problems and provided me with this invaluable information. The above is why I've seen numerous reviews from those sites above that some buttons work and others don't, apparently sporadically. Please ensure you only purchase 'new' and not 'refurbished' keys if you would like replacement/replacement keys for your Ford. The guaranteed 80 bits are not necessarily the case.
