Review on πŸ–€ Optimized Aveda Men's Pure-Formance Clay Grooming Jar, 75 ml/2.6-Ounce by Michael Fairfield

Revainrating 4 out of 5

[Updated February 6, 2014]

**UPDATED 2/6/2014** After several months of use, I actually retract my original claim that I preferred this cream over Paul Mitchell , and non-forming cream with tea tree. While it's still a great styling tone, its texture isn't flexible enough to give crisp definition when shaping ends, waves, partings, etc. I also found that it dries out my hair. My first choice but I'm still looking for a stronger hold product that rinses off easily. Lipstick but I didn't like how heavy it was. I like to curl or style my hair, but after a few hours of using the product, my hair becomes weighed down and flat. Aveda's clay feels lighter on your hair but offers the same strength and an even more natural (no shine) hold, better than Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shaping Cream. It is also easily rinsed out of the hair. The only downsides are the high price and the musky-woody smell. For a good haircut, I am willing to make fair compromises.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
