After using this charger for about 6 months (probably once a month), the fan started making a grinding noise like the blades were touching something inside. Also, when connecting the power supply, there is usually a visible spark from the back of the device. After contacting the manufacturer, I was told they only had a 30-day limited warranty and I was more or less held responsible for the damage to the device ("We do not cover defects caused by physical damage. Low because I have not really heard of problems with this product from other customers"). In other words, since there are few defective units, there are no defective units. This is an illogical logic and this rarely used charger has not been damaged. The Most companies are at the very least concerned enough that their product is potentially dangerous that they want to examine it and see if it's covered under warranty or a replacement. In this case, that seems to be my problem. It's a shame , because this is by far the most practical and thoughtful/innovative charger I've found in my search, and with the best guarantee coverage and the best support I would probably recommend it despite the issues with this particular device.
