Review on 🔧 ACDelco GM Original Equipment Throttle Position Sensor Kit: Enhanced with Clips and Cover for Optimal Performance by Kuldip Roberts

Replaced TPS with a 2008 Chevy Uplander with DTCs P2315 and P0121. There was a bump and hesitation when accelerating prior to complete failure, when it failed and the trouble codes popped up it went into a reduced engine power mode which limits throttle opening and opening speed during acceleration. There is no procedure for replacing this sensor in the 08 Uplander factory repair manual. If it does not work, the corrective action given is to replace the entire throttle body. The ACDelco part that comes with it doesn't have instructions for installing the sensor or removing the old sensor, just the part and six new spring clips (let's call them extended clips). Before working on the throttle grip, make sure that the ignition is switched off. The throttle motor and gearbox can generate enough torque at the throttle to cause injury. I had to use flat blade screwdrivers of various lengths and sizes, a small curved pry bar, and a magnetic tool to pry out dropped or broken springs. To remove the spring clip, insert a screwdriver between the winged tip of the clip and the small plastic tab on the face of the sensor at the bottom of the clip. Put your hand on the clip to catch it while turning the screwdriver and it will pop out. Do not pry on the wide, flat part of the clip, as the plastic underneath is hollow and can tear. Keep all the old clips in case you drop one of the new ones and it gets lost somewhere in the engine bay. When shipped, my new sensor's actuator slot was not aligned with the closed position of the tab on the end of the throttle shaft. You can turn it to the desired position with a small flathead screwdriver. You will need to press down on the new sensor while pressing down on the clip for it to snap into place. I was able to assemble three of them manually, while the other three required me to carefully pry off an adjacent component with a screwdriver or crowbar. This part fixed our problem and our van is working properly again. This is a good product as it saves you from having to replace the entire throttle body which appears to have been GM's original intent when designing the throttle body. I didn't give five stars because the product didn't come with installation instructions. It is likely that any instructions provided by GM will require a special tool, not always available, to remove and install these clips.
