Review on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 235/70 R16 110Q summer by Janis Berzins ᠌

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

With this rubber, I'm having trouble. It is superior to both the first and second generations, in my opinion. It seemed to me that it handled less well than the Yokohama M/T G001 in terms of handling on asphalt, but that it outperformed it in terms of wear resistance, ability to drive in mud without slipping, and propensity to slide sideways on hills.

Pros
  • Exceptional traction on any slick and muddy surfaces. Even when using rear-wheel drive, it can cause a quick start on gravel to occur without slipping; the car simply moves forward after that. There is no sense of riding on square wheels, like there are on the Yokohama G001, at "cork" speeds. The rubber is very soft, and in contrast to what I expected for a long trip, it needs to be pumped noticeably more, and not less, than some kind of "civilian" rubber. If not, there will be a 15% increase in consumption, almost no rolling, and there may even be a feeling of the front wheels "breaking" in a tight turn.
Cons
  • tires that are much noisier than I anticipated. Particularly audible noise occurs between 60 and 80 km/h. appears to be even louder than M/T analogs (I do not compare to Silverstone MT 117). Although it seems to be a summer-only version (unlike g001, which may also function in the winter), it may be superior to its equivalents in this regard.
