Review on Terk BMS-58 Integrated Multiswitch - 5 Input/8 Output (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Aaron Bannister

TERK BMS-58 5 IN / 8 OUT Built in multi switch

Bought a triple lnb antenna and found that my old switch is not compatible as it cannot pass the 22kHz signal to the LNB bowl forwards. Using a Terk BMS-58, it sends a signal so you can get all three birds. The only problem I found was that when you plug the cable input into the Terk's local switcher input, horizontal stripes (slightly) roll across the image (mostly noticeable when the screen goes black between commercials). To solve the problem, I flashed the cable channels after the switch with a crossover. There are other switches that do the same thing as the Terk switch, but I haven't tested any of them (AVI and ZINWELL). I think the cable entry into the switch will be the same on these switches. I read online that after a switch, diplexing is the best way, and that's what you need to do with the Dish Network DP-34.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
