Works fine but new Directv HD channels don't work

I've been using this product for about 5 months and it's working fine. I am a DirecTV HD user and now that they have switched to the new HD scheme the new HD channels are not working. I just got off the phone with DircTV tech support and they said it was the multiswitch. They send someone to the house to replace him.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works well with DirecTV but not with an over-the-air antenna

I get excellent reception from an over-the-air antenna (I'm in line of sight of the towers) , but not when I run the antenna through this device. Terk support is very good but not very helpful for my problem. I just ordered a box of diplexers (found a box of 20 for $40). Because of the nice neat cable routing. comes spaghetti cable and diplexer. Also, be careful if heat is an issue. This device gets hot!

  • Very good value for money

My first purchase on Amazon

I bought this product to connect an upstairs TV in my house after receiving this product. I gave the person a good rating for shipping I couldn't find the power cord to run this product, it was too old to even be compatible with what I needed. I asked for my money back and then he said he will find the power cord in a few days until I heard from this person, so I had to take a loss! :(

NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Everyone knows TERK DOES Crap, and this multiswitch is no exception. I was in dire need of a multiswitch, went to Best Buy and paid $154 for a Terk ms! Yes I know but I needed it ASAP. A WEEK after installation, one of the satellite inputs broke, died. And I have surge protectors on the lines. In addition, the device gets very hot. I had three other Terk products that did the same thing. Avoid Terk at all costs, opting for Monster or even Radio Shack in a pinch. I will never buy Turk products…

TERK BMS-58 5 IN / 8 OUT Built in multi switch

Bought a triple lnb antenna and found that my old switch is not compatible as it cannot pass the 22kHz signal to the LNB bowl forwards. Using a Terk BMS-58, it sends a signal so you can get all three birds. The only problem I found was that when you plug the cable input into the Terk's local switcher input, horizontal stripes (slightly) roll across the image (mostly noticeable when the screen goes black between commercials). To solve the problem, I flashed the cable channels after the switch…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Works as intended: Accessories and accessories

Using my triple LNB dish supplied by DirecTv I bought the following: (08) Terk BDS-P1, (01) Terk HD-TVS Off-the-Air HD -Antenna and (01) Terk BMS-58 switches to make everything work together. There were no problems with the installation. DirecTV receivers see all 3 satellites and have the ability to receive free HD TV from local channels. The BMS-58 works as a combiner and routes all signals over 1 coaxial cable. This reduces the cabling effort. The diplexer then separates the signals at the…

Long wait for Terk/AudioVox replacement

I brought one of these back in early 2005. I discovered this was a bug in August 2005. Audiovox, they told me to send it back for a replacement. I sent it back in August 2005. I called them to check the status, they told me they were out of stock so they couldn't send me a replacement. It's the end of November and they keep telling me they don't have a replacement. They say they really aren't being produced, but contact has been made somewhere. Until they place an order for the next batch, they

Doesn't work with DirecTV HDTV

I installed this multiswitch a year and a half ago to replace an old multiswitch when they upgraded my DirecTV antenna. It worked fine, but last week I upgraded my TV to a HD flat screen TV and subscribed to HD channels. I have found that this multi-switch does not pass HD channels. This was confirmed by speaking to Terk (Audiovox) Technical Support - it is not compatible with DirecTV HDTV channels. So I might as well throw this thing in the bin. When I bought it it was supposed to be…
