Review on Terk BMS-58 Integrated Multiswitch - 5 Input/8 Output (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Joseph Swanson

Using my triple LNB dish supplied by DirecTv I bought the following: (08) Terk BDS-P1, (01) Terk HD-TVS Off-the-Air HD -Antenna and (01) Terk BMS-58 switches to make everything work together. There were no problems with the installation. DirecTV receivers see all 3 satellites and have the ability to receive free HD TV from local channels. The BMS-58 works as a combiner and routes all signals over 1 coaxial cable. This reduces the cabling effort. The diplexer then separates the signals at the DirecTV box. I also use this for TIVO with no problems. As some have said. the device heats up. But not so hot that you can't touch it. I raised the bracket 1 inch to allow airflow through the back of the unit. I have noticed that this causes the device to run a little colder. I also had to install a DC power supply on the input of the external antenna in order for DirecTv to receive. The manual doesn't say anything about it. The issue was resolved through trial and error. I have 1 month and I work 5 posts with no problems.
