I chose to buy this crimping tool over Revlon because it was only a few dollars cheaper, although both got great reviews. I have very thin, thin, flat, straight, black Asian hair. I tried teasing and used different products that promised volume. This crimper worked the best and took the least amount of time! All I did was part the hair (as if you wanted to curl it), hold the curling iron firmly at the roots for about 5 seconds, and move on to the next section. Of course, I stopped about halfway up to 3/4 of my head (starting at the bottom and working my way up) so I had enough hair to hide my coiled roots. When I was done, I tousled my roots by hand and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily I achieved great volume with my first use of these tongs! No products other than thermal protection! Say goodbye to flat, lifeless hair!
