I bought this for my trip to Banff in case there is a power outage or something as I plan on camping for just a few days as a precaution . As far as I can tell this thing actually only runs on battery power, which is deceptive as it says you can power it by cranking or solar power. Since the manual says it will take about four hours to fully charge the energy, I thought I'd give it a solar charge for the first time after realizing that even after a few minutes starting it didn't do anything. After a few hours, when it was getting a bit dark and there wasn't really any light shining on the solar panel, I decided to bring it in. it was light. Now, just a day or two later, I realize I left three AAA batteries in it. So I take them out and press the power button, but I find that it doesn't work. I feel like this review is a bit preemptive and performed well on battery power. But if it's not a misunderstanding and was in fact false advertising, then it's terrible. I hope I just made a mistake and misunderstood. If the seller can contact me or anyone with advice on how to fix this issue I would be very grateful.
