The o-rings that come with these regulators are fine junk. You must reuse the OEM O-rings. The controls feel light and cheap, just like the stock caps. I can't tell if the controls were cast or machined. These MacMotor parts appear to protrude about 1/4 inch lower than the factory caps, so the springs are already preloaded upon installation. The spring tension can be felt without loosening the adjustment screws. I weigh more than the average driver. I can't imagine increasing the preload more than a few turns. The bike has become extremely stiff, which can be detrimental to the average rider. Be careful. I'm going to ride on the lowest settings for a while and if I like the feel I'll ride with new springs which was my initial plan. These adjusters will not compensate for a spring rate that is too light. GLB - wrote a helpful overview of these parts with photos. 3 stars as long as they last.
