There are many interesting things in this set, so I don't open it just because my daughter got bored. She's 9 and all she wanted for her birthday was a magical set. Before I bought it, I reviewed it extensively. She played a few gigs, then she got fed up. I think this is in the order of things and does not indicate the quality of the product. So if you don't want to spend too much on a fun gift, this is a good option. I've really enjoyed the two shows she's done, and I understand that (like my kids' chemistry class) sometimes the fun is just beginning. And that's probably enough.
