Direct Fit best in my review

Slam, Bam, thank you ma'am. Direct fit. Fifteen-minute installation. Tool gathering and lawnmower set up 20 minutes. 2017 Husqvarna YTH 42LS with ONLY 100 hours in it. If you get any more time on the spindles, they will eventually grenade. The same goes for the pulleys. You DO NOT need to drop the deck! Just push the self-adjusting idle out of the way, slip off the belt, hold the blade, remove the big spindle nut on top of the pulley, remove the 4 bolts (they may snap). remove the blade. ALWAYS USE THE NEW BOLTS!I do believe these are still pre-greased factory sealed bearings (two per spindle). No way to effectively get grease into them through the zerk fittings UNLESS (and that is a BIG UNLESS) there are not any grease seals on the bearing ends that are facing inside the mandrel. I did not take it apart to check but with my experience as a high-end luxury auto mechanic and ME <Mechanical Engineer> (Jaguar, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Rolls Royce.) for 40+ years I doubt the bearings are constructed this way. Never seen them this way. BUT. all is not too lost as the added grease within the mandrel will dissipate the heat generated by the bearings as this will add to their longevity. Durable Goods (washers, stoves, refrigerators etc.) are defined as those that last more than 3 years. I think the standards are really lower in some cases now adays. The Planned Obsolescent departments are hard at work and in full swing in just about all goods. AH. I can remember when pulleys had removeable snap rings, grease seals and bearings you could actually hand pack with grease and reassemble with new seals. They would last FOREVER. I am old school. I rebuild what I can when I can get the internal parts. Gone are the days when garages would overhaul starters, alternators, generators, etc. Not many individuals even know how to do that these days.

Pros
  • bolt up was fast and the part was the right higth.
Cons
  • Cheap made would only last about a month
