Pretty Shapes

I bought a silicone mold for biscuits. I had never baked with silicone and was afraid it would catch fire or melt in the oven. The mold doesn't come with a little guide explaining its heat resistance so I had to google it. I'm happy to report that it didn't catch fire and that the cookie was able to come out exactly the shape of the mold. The silicone mold is a bit flimsy, so I put the mold on a baking sheet first. Otherwise it can't lay flat or tight because it's so "rubberized". As for heat resistance, I didn't exceed 350 degrees. 400 degrees is fine, but since the pan is very thin, the cookie won't burn if you lower it. There is no need to go higher. As for soap and chocolate, I haven't researched that yet, but I'm sure it will be fine. I think I'll try Jello next time! In any case. Happy baking!

Pros
  • Made from silicone, flexible and non-stick, the soap releases easily and cleanly, making the perfect soap/lotion every time.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
