USB ports work but RJ45 can also be switched

UPDATE. After I posted this review, the company contacted me and was happy to send me a replacement. I obviously wanted to try another one as it might be an anomaly or some other issue that I couldn't find. I got a new one, exactly the same, and plugged it in and unsurprisingly nothing has changed. I can pull down the 90's and get them firmly into the high 30's or low 40's. Out of curiosity it dawned on me, I'm wondering if the switch has anything to do with this? After some research I was able to locate the problem. There was NO adapter here! It was a switch. For some reason my GS316 Unmanaged Switch was only sending data at 100Mbps. Well therein lies the problem and now I need to figure it out. BUT, moral of the story, apart from the device heating up, it works as advertised. I really have nothing to complain about. I wouldn't have found this if it wasn't for the replacement so thanks to the company for the replacement and I'll put it to good use. This adapter works and is plug and play. I'm really not sure what to do here. I can go back a few more days and maybe there are no suggestions how to solve this, but the RJ45 port with Cat6A cables works like this, very slowly. The device does get warm as advertised, but that doesn't bother me. The USB ports work well and greatly expand the full functionality of the USB ports, however no lights are on (I was aware of this, but it's so standard I don't know why it's not on) and the wired internet connection is very slow . I tested my Macbook Pro with another USB Ethernet adapter and I got great speeds that I was hoping for (960Mbps down) but with this one I was lucky enough to get 50. Wirelessly I can get about 500-700Mbps down, but for some reason I'm not getting the GIG I'm supposed to be getting with it. Nice little device, but it's underpowered at the moment. Yes it works but the main reason I bought it was to get GIG speeds and since I'm getting about 4-5% of that I'll probably go back.
