My first Pioneer deck!

Replaces 6-7 year old Kenwood Excelon. Even though I've had this deck for almost a decade, there were still options in the settings that I had no idea what they did or meant. Over-complexity was an understatement at Excelon. It's almost the complete opposite. You don't have to be a sound lover to understand what the settings mean. The sound quality is excellent. Some people have warned me about 2V pre-outs, but really. I don't notice any difference. General. If everything is set up correctly, everything sounds fine. The USB and Aux jacks on the back are a plus for those looking for a clean install. I hate getting in the car and there the wires show the fuck where. It's like I come to your house and your underwear is just hanging. Ewww.The build quality is definitely there. All buttons feel solid, even the small rotary switch around the volume knob. I love that you can turn off some connection settings when you're not using them (like Aux and Bluetooth), but I wish you could turn off more of them (like Pandora and app connection). I've paired a Moto G with this thing and it's divine. The mic picks up well when I'm driving. There is some wind noise with the windows down or the air-conditioning on, but that's to be expected. The remote control is nice and small, works as it should. Obviously the deck doesn't control Android like an iPhone (sigh), but thanks to the magic of Bluetooth 4.0+ it does a pretty good job. All major playback functions on the remote and deck control your Android when connected this way. The installation is very easy. Don't pay anyone to install your radio unless you just want to burn your money. If you have steering wheel controls (like me) it gets a little tricky, but that's what the internet is for. USE IT. Overall very happy with this deck.
