These fly very well and are only half sharp which makes them easier to hold in different positions. I bought these little knives partly to teach my kids. It's hard for a 6-year-old to build enough strength, but an 8-year-old can stealthily throw them from 6 feet, and an 11-year-old can even throw them overhead with a spin from 10-12 feet. They're also pretty easy to clean with a file if they get scratched, and they don't quite look like a piece of metal. Hopefully it goes without saying that children should only throw under close supervision.
