The hub is great for connected USB and SD cards. Inside there is a slot for a hard drive. I installed a 1TB SSD for small temporary files etc. The problem is this. and in their defense, this can and could be an Apple issue, but when the Mac mini goes to sleep, the drive unmounts and you get a sad face saying you unmounted the drive incorrectly. This happens with every hard drive that you have connected to the hub. I was able to solve this problem by installing a powered USB hub in this hub and now life is great. Hopefully the next version will have more USB-C ports and external power.
