Unreliable and prone to breakage. Unfortunately not worth the trouble.

Unfortunately I have to say that while a lot for the specs this brand of lightning is unreliable and flawed and the bracket breaks easily so you'll have to search ebay for an elusive part that will set you back $20 and an evening homemade. Performance is good, but the flash itself forgets settings, reboots, crashes, requires removing the battery, or a two-button reset method. Mine got permanently banned late last year within a month of purchase and I had to reflash the firmware. Luckily it works, but what a huge backend pain to squeeze a basic function out of something that should at least work and doesn't work or doesn't work at all without a reboot. Don't even make me "forget" the TTL remote feature with their X1 transmitter. I have to reset the settings regularly to get the flash to fire again. Then the mounting flange of the flash shoe &^#%@ broke off. Unfortunately the thing is junk. It's an annoyingly trite and overly dramatic term you see in these reviews, but in this particular case I can't think of a better word to describe the TT685S. Maybe Godox or the distributor will take pity on me. The flash is still in great shape and has always been in its infancy, and yet the mount rendered it unusable (as if another faulty menu and not firing issues weren't enough). I suggest avoiding Godox and their various renamed clones. While my Yongnuo wasn't TTL, it's never been this sporadic or unreliable. And the mount never broke.
