Review on 🔩 ACDelco ARM602-4 1/2” Heavy Duty Digital Torque Adapter – ISO 6789 Certified with Buzzer & LED Flash Notification, Calibration Certificate by Joe Patterson

A few things about this adapter bothered me when using it as a torque wrench: it's bulky and can't be used in hard-to-reach places, it drains batteries quickly if the buzzer is used a lot, it's difficult to set the correct one Torque value, sometimes in noisy environments, the buzzer is not audible, and it is easy to overload the torque if you are not careful, e.g. B. when it wants to switch off to save battery power, just when you're really ready to do the crucial torque work. But I discovered a VERY useful feature for this device: use it as a torque calibrator for my other torque wrenches. Using the ISO 6789 method, the DELCO ARM 602 registers the peak torque applied by the torque wrench and can be easily reset for the next measurement. All I do is put it in peak record mode, use a wrench to test it, then apply torque and take readings with the Delco. My Delco came with a calibration sticker made 2 years before it was sent to me and my 2 new torque wrenches (different designs, different manufacturers) that I calibrated were below the 4% limit when measured on the Delco. Of course I need to make a calibration tool to make sure the Delco is still accurate, but for now it looks ok. At $50, it's MUCH cheaper than a $1000 or $10,000 calibration tool, and you can calibrate your click buttons every time. 6 months and know they are working properly. If you're using Delco you need to read the instructions on how to set it up and get it running and it's counterintuitive so I'd give it almost 4 stars for that. . But I would argue that it's not effective as a torque wrench, but MUCH cheaper as a calibrator than the alternatives.
