I have a 2007 Mustang. The bracket that the latch sits on protrudes from the rear of the assembly preventing it from being attached to the trunk lid. You can see in the pictures that the brace on the OEM latch is (somewhat) flush with the plastic cover but not on the aftermarket AUTOHAUX latch. I had to sand/cut the corner/back of the bracket so it was flush with the lid for it to fit properly. I don't think it was a big deal considering Ford has a $90 price difference for the OEM replacement, but it takes a 10 minute project to a 30 minute project.
