Review on πŸ’‘ Dimmable Hardwire Industrial Electrical and Lighting Components by Sunco Lighting by Ryan Gillett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beautiful recessed optics - very subtle and very bright!

I ordered these for lights in a closet where I already had 3 1/2" round boxes in the ceiling, but wanted flat/flush lights rather than the typical "spherical" light fixture that sticking down from the ceiling. There were a few reviews that said they had very short wires (<2") on the back so I was prepared for a lengthy install, but the ones I got had wires of about 4 or 5" on the back so I didn't have them there was no problem connecting them to the wires in the box. The only problem I had was that the screw slots on the back of the light didn't line up well enough with the screw holes of the ceiling box (brand new old - working round box) I was able to fit the bracket onto the screws but I had trouble threading the screws into the key slots on the bracket because the slot z was a hairline or needed to be slightly wider. I was able to force the screws into the keyways but I had to hold the jig in place very firmly by tightening the screws to keep it from turning backwards as the screw was pushing against the edge of the slot so it tended to to turn the jig while it was moving. dressed. Once I figured it out, it really wasn't that bad after installing the first device. I think one could expand one of the slots a bit before installing and that would help too. Otherwise everything worked after the installation. I have them in my closet so no dimmers which I noticed from other reviews. I've had trouble with dimmers and some LED bulbs in the past, so I know finding a good match between switch and bulb is a constant problem. But since mine were in a closet, I've only used regular switches and haven't noticed any problems. Can't comment on durability as I've just installed them but am considering buying another set for my garage which currently has four bare lamps with bulbs in ceiling sockets with 100w bulbs. So it will be the equivalent brightness, although I'm not sure the light spread will be the same. I hope they last as they have worked well in my closets! Update: I've noticed quite a bit of flickering with many lights even if they aren't dimmers. Seems worst when first turned on and mostly goes off after a few minutes but still annoying for a closet where it's only on a few minutes at a time.
