This guide works very well for me and is perfect for my choice. I use this guide along with a comb to cut my hair, which I have been doing for many years, and I find this combination to be a very beautiful cut. I don't need a clipping comb when using guides 1 through 8, but for guides 1 1/4, 1 1/2, and 2 inches, the comb helps lift the hair toward the clippers.
