my 70 amp version, which works fine, tripped at 60

. I use these types of switches on their solar projects. They come in different sizes. This allows you to manually open and close the circuit at will without having to move the wires. I use them before and after every solar charge controller. This is useful for system maintenance, troubleshooting, or simply shutting down a part of the system. They fire at a lower temperature when the environment gets warmer and that's part of the design. For example, my 70 amp version, which usually works well, would cut out at 60.5 amps when the system temp was above 110F. Ideally, you don't want to expose the system to temperatures in that range anyway. After releasing the heat, the switch worked as usual again.

Pros
  • . Maximum voltage: 48 V DC, interrupting capacity: 5000 A at 12 V, 3000 A at 24 V, 1500 A at 42 V
Cons
  • . Has been damaged.
