Doesn't work well at all
The top cover doesn't close tightly. The coffee grounds settle to the bottom of the coffee pot, which I believe is because there are only holes at the top and bottom of the insert. Yes, that's really good, but even in a fire, since the lid doesn't fit well, the earth just overflows from the top. I only leave it in because it's great for storing water for those of us who drink tea when we're camping, or some hot water for a sponge. Ideal for maintaining water temperature only. Not for sifting coffee.
