I bought this for my Honda Goldwing GL1800. The 1800 has the option to install a CD player, but I don't. This adapter plugs into the CD input jack under the seat. I then routed the wires to a place where they could be connected to my XM radio. (My GPS uses the AUX input on the 1800 radio) Works great! Good volume control. The USB plug supplies 5V and is "hot" all the time, so if you plug something into it, it stays on, even if you turn off the ignition. I would recommend putting a freezer bag on top of the unit and sealing it with tape to keep moisture and dust out. Overall good value for money.
