Review on πŸš€ Ultimate Performance: Unleash Speed with Origin8 Classic Road Caliper! by Derrek Fields

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality. Essentially the equivalent of a Shimano 105.

I had a set of Campagnolo Veloce brakes on my fixie. I chose medium offset brakes to replace my short one as my front brake pads barely touched the tire. I chose Origin8 because of the quality for the price. They have Shimano build quality at a lower price point than Shimano. The front caliper feels about the same as my Shimano 105 calipers on my other bikes. Braking performance is good, the caliper returns well and is easy to adjust. The toe of the shoe is not adjusted automatically, but can easily be adjusted manually. I can't comment on the durability of the pads, but I will say that this caliper only works with Shimano style pads. Due to the larger bolt diameter, it does not fit Campi type brake shoes. The color on the silver caliper is accurate (ghost) and the picture itself is exactly what I received. The only thing I don't like about this caliper is that the quick release lever is plastic. This shouldn't be a problem considering it's a non-structural part, but I just have OCD. Simply put, it's a good price and good quality. If you don't care what brand your bike is then you really can't go wrong with these brakes. They are compatible with any short-travel lever, the pads are good and easy to fit. Please note that they have a recessed bracket.
