Review on πŸ¦„ CamelBak Eddy Kids Water Bottle (Unicorn Design) – Spill-Proof, BPA-Free, 12oz by Wayne Drakh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Takes advantage of a tiny person. Disappointing for a grown human.

3 year old daughter has been training hard with this cup for the past 6 months. I taught her how to use the camelback bite valve when she was over 1 year old and so on this mug she has a lot of fun biting, biting, holding and chewing on the bite valve. Carries like a soldier. She loves the unicorn and rainbow stickers, which have held up remarkably well. Unfortunately, there are a few design flaws that make me less of a fan than my kid. BTW 2) Like all the other reviewers. I HATE cleaning this thing. Daily cleaning with small bottle brushes, weekly disinfection with vinegar, boiling or microwave heating in one of the self-disinfecting containers that come with MAM pacifiers. In addition, the threads and ring in the cap require the same thorough cleaning. 3) The straw is too hard and too short. This leaves over 1/2 inch of water on the bottom that she can't reach, making her WANT to get to her, leading to number 4.4) leaks. Not what you expect. If it just falls, the bite valve works great to prevent spills. BUT when the little one is experimenting or trying to get to the last drink, she pushes the ENTIRE bite valve/straw into the cup with her thumbs. in a vat of water with a huge hole at the top that drains all the liquid in the cup. which is very annoying for the sweet daughter, because she hates spills. :(On the whole I don't hate it. And it seems like a few small tweaks to the design could make me love it as much as my daughter does.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Hard to say
