Review on πŸ’‘ Sengled Multicolor Bluetooth Bulb with Adjustable Brightness by Teresa Quinney

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't expect them to work easily or not at all.

I don't like it at all. I received them and they never connected to my 2.4Ghz home network so I tried their Bluetooth option and that never worked either. The images in the guide don't even quite match the app's settings, leaving you guessing exactly which settings you should be using. But I don't even know if that affected the setup as they absolutely, absolutely never appeared on my local network and the application has never successfully connected - let alone controlled - lightbulbs. I made sure to check all 4 just in case it was a no-ass bulb and got the same rejection on all 4. It seems to be a trend: if a lightbulb is advertised as really urging you to use an Alexa or Echo hub, then it means you'll never get it to work without it, even if the advertising says something else says. If it says "No hub BUT THIS WORKS GREAT WITH AMAZON HOME/GOOGLE HOME", be prepared that they will ONLY work in those circumstances. "No hub compatible with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth" is a joke. Maybe they'll work with these hubs, but I don't really WANT an Alexa or Echo right now, so I specifically bought lightbulbs, which I've been told don't need. That was the result.

Pros
  • Certified for humans. A smart home is practical for laypeople. Setup with Alexa is easy.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
