This was perfect for our dog who had never worn a coat. It suited her and was great for MN's cold. The only problem was the flash. He was pretty skinny. It didn't slide well, and if you weren't very careful it could get stuck in the flap that was supposed to keep it out of her fur. It got stuck a couple of times and we tried to open it, but the zipper's "clasp" was so flimsy it could bend. The last time this happened my husband pushed too hard and the entire zipper and slider broke. He took it to a tailor and they put a new, stronger runner on it with a thicker train, so it's working great now. Glides easily and never gets stuck.
