I'm a do-it-yourselfer so have no experience with these devices. I was very impressed when after reading the instructions I plugged the MD802 into the OBD2 port on my 2013 Toyota Highlander and the screen lit up. I played with this device a bit at Toyota and then switched to my 2000 Ford F150. The MD802 worked again as soon as I plugged it into the OBD2 port, although the MD802 thought my truck had an automatic transmission (it has a manual transmission). I returned home, created an account with Autel and downloaded all the updates. I went back to my F150 and plugged in the scanner - it now showed my truck had a manual transmission. I was happy with my purchase. Until the next time I tried to use it. Now, about 24 hours after unpacking the device, when I plugged it into a Toyota or F150, the screen remained blank. I checked the SD card with Autel Updater software and the program showed that all the data on my SD card is fine. I tried to print using the Autel printer software and the USB cable and the printer software showed that it could not recognize my MD802. Device. I did - I ordered another one and am hoping for better service. EDIT: The second MD802 from this vendor behaved exactly like the first. On arrival it worked. I have registered the device and updated the SD card software. Immediately after the software update, I reconnected the MD802 to my car. It worked and I removed the old code on this car. The next morning I connected this MD802 to the same car and it stopped working, just like the previous purchase. I returned this unit and bought the MD802 from another seller. The latest MD802 purchased from another vendor works fine after about a week.
