I don't normally leave comments but thought others should know about my experience. I have owned many Cuisinart coffee makers over the years. This will be my last. I bought the DCC-3200 in August 2016. We use filtered water and clean our coffee maker regularly. After less than 6 months of use, the black coating of the heating plate started peeling off and white spots appeared on it. The manufacturer replaced it free of charge under warranty. For the return I had to pay 1/3 of the total purchase price. Less than 6 months later, in August 2017, the heating plate severely peeled off and its surface was white with rust spots. At that point I stopped using the coffee maker for fear of a fire. Cuisinart again offered to replace it under warranty but I had to pay to send it back a second time. Since this problem happened twice in less than a year, I asked Cuisinart to pay for the return shipping. The supervisor I spoke to declined. The product and customer service at Cuisinart has been beyond disappointing. I am aware that some products may have design issues. Accept. Cuisinart should not expect a customer to pay for the return of a defective item a second time for the same issue. I will not buy another Cuisinart product nor will I recommend it.
