Green lasers work better in daylight than red ones, which isn't saying much. The glasses help make the lines sharper, but a lot depends on the brightness of your beam. Most homemade lasers seem limited. how far they can project the visible beam. The included rectangular target is small, 2.5" x 4", with some foil on the back to help. almost impossible. Possible is a nice big white bucket lid or light cardboard, something big and almost white. Also helps to use glasses. not much outside. FYI: On the physical side of the world, longer wavelengths of green (and blue) scatter more in the atmosphere than shorter wavelengths of red. This is one of the reasons we have rainbows (another reason is water droplets).
