I was delighted to use these beautiful tableware for a baby shower for 22 people. Some of my guests remarked on how nice they were when they started serving the buffet, as at first glance they thought they were "real" dishes. Imagine our shock when we found that the blue had dissolved into an oily residue within minutes of food or (even) water touching the blue coating. It was pretty gross and a couple of ladies quietly asked for a different type of plate and if they could revisit the buffet. Others were kind enough to eat from the center of their plates. I bet I'm beyond unsatisfied. We tried small cake plates. Same problem. I got the sandwich/bread plates out of my cupboard and luckily I had several sets of plates and had enough plates to serve my guests. The dishes were perfect - no problem. I have attached photos. A photo with a small stain shows what happens when a few drops of water remain on the plate for a few moments. I wiped away the drips and the finish had already dissolved.
