Review on Finnex Hang-On Box External Refugium Breeder with Water Pump by Karen Cooper

I have a reef aquarium, I went with an external filter with fx450. I'm still new to this hobby and not familiar with refugium repurposing. The main reason I bought this item was to store the copypods for my aquarium. A place where they are sure to sip and then go to my aquarium. In short, I came home from work with a floor full of salt water. This thing started leaking and my ATO started pumping more water back into the tank. Before that it worked great. I put the standard, sand on the bottom and some small stones, then my pair. I wasn't going crazy and I knew I was putting in because I didn't want to add any more weight. This is essential for a healthy copypod habitat. It broke within a month. I think Finnex needs to reinforce the plastic and come up with a different model for people who will use it like me, especially around the exit where the leak is coming from. If you plan to do what I did. I would avoid this product as the plastic is too flimsy in my opinion. I'm sure it works fine on other variants. But for my purposes it was a complete flop. I suggest finding an alternative solution. Revain's return service was great. They knew this product wasn't up to the task. That's why Revain wins on all retail sales. Keep it up.
