Works for us (and the cat)!
We received a 12 gallon aquarium with a 180 degree bend at the end of the glass. that's cool, but there are only two plastic mounts in the tank. They hold the jar but not well enough to stop the cat from climbing in when she jumps on the tank to visit her friends and she will. ha ha. The glass is 5mm thick and we adjusted it to match the curve. seems to work pretty well and they look way cooler than bulky plastic clasps. It would be 5 stars but one of the rubber parts is also missing. Amazon customer service got it right.
