I have a service speed of 70Mbps and everything was great right after I turned it on - soon after that everything stopped being great. Went from testing >100Mbps to 5Mbps to 25Mbps within an hour and stayed just awful until another reboot "fixed" it for a few minutes. It also appeared as if the data transfer completely stopped for a few minutes despite claiming to be connected to the internet. It would never have caught my eye 10 years ago, but with two people trying to work from home it was very noticeable. . I don't know if it was a firmware issue or just a bad block, but I sent this one back and opted for the newer version just to have some spares for the future. EDIT: Strongly suspect that this tends to overheat. It is very small and not particularly well ventilated and was constantly very warm. Housed in a much larger case with much better ventilation, the new SURFboard modem doesn't get hot at all.
